In his key speech delivered on Monday in KAICIID’s conference on “Dialogue for Peace”, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam, stated that Islam has established rules and principles for coexistence with followers of different faiths across different contexts, times, and places, allowing Muslims to integrate and live in perfect harmony with the societies they reside in.

“The world is in dire need of dialogue platforms based on firmly established principles. We need a dialogue that respects our contexts and does not seek to stir animosity, hatred or impose hegemony over one another,” Dr. Allam confirmed.

The Grand Mufti currently participates in this conference in response to an official invitation extended by the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID). The two day conference “Dialogue for Peace” started on Monday, 26to Tuesday 27 February in Austria’s Vienna.
