Is it permissible to offer prayers at home or should they be offered in the mosque?

Is it permissible to offer prayers at home or should they be offered in the mosque?

Answer

It is not preferable to pray at home as the reward for a prayer performed in the mosque is twenty seven times greater than that for one prayed at home. This reward should therefore motivate a person to offer prayers in the mosque.
And God the Almighty knows best.
