Sheikh. Ahmad Wessam – a fatwa trustee at Dar al-Iftaa - delivered the Friday sermon yesterday in the US Capitol building located in Washington, D.C.

Wessam, emphasized that Islam is the religion of peace which morphologically derived from Salam [peace]. He stressed that the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] has been sent to perfect good manners and spread peace all over the globe.

He further stressed that the principles of Islam completely contradict the blood-shed committed in the name of Islam and strongly condemned the video released by the terrorist organization “QSIS”, which shows the murder of the American journalist.

Sheikh Wessam concluded by saying that Islam promotes peace which isn’t based on weakness as witnessed in the Prophet’s Jihad against both aggression and oppression.
