Senior Advisor to Egypt's Mufti Presents Dar Al-Ifta Experiment in Combating Extremism at Singapore's International Conference

In his speech at the conference on "National Experiences in Combating Extremism and Terrorism," Dr. Ibrahim Negm, Senior Advisor to Egypt's Mufti and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, clarified that behind every act of terrorism, there are extremist ideas that serve as ideological support for terrorist acts. He added that true Islam can silence the extremist minority.

Dr. Negm stressed in his speech that Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta is the authoritative voice for issuing fatwas in Egypt and the Islamic world, producing nearly one and a half million fatwas annually in 12 different languages. He emphasized that the establishment of the "Salam" Center for Extremism Studies is part of its efforts to combat extremism and terrorism. He provided an explanation of the idea and role of the center, which serves as a research and academic platform under the supervision of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Authorities Worldwide and Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta.

The conference is currently being held in Singapore from April 13th to 18th with the participation of 40 countries.
