Smelling Fragrances while fasting

Does smelling strong fragrances invalidate the fast?

There is scholarly disagreement over deliberately inhaling strong fragrances during fasting hours. A group of scholars maintains that intentionally doing so invalidates the fast. Consequently, one should refrain from inhaling vapors and/or strong fragrances while fasting to avoid engaging in this scholarly difference. Otherwise, whoever unintentionally smells a strong fragrance is not blameworthy, and their fasting remains valid.
