Egypt’s Mufti Arrives in Jeddah for International Symposium on Combating Violence against Women

His Eminence Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, has arrived in Jeddah to participate in the international symposium “The Role of Religious Leaders in Combating Violence against Women,” organized by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in cooperation with the Muslim World League, with the participation of scholars, experts, and religious leaders from around the world.

The Grand Mufti emphasized that combating violence against women is a religious and moral responsibility, as well as a societal duty, stressing the role of religious institutions in correcting misconceptions, promoting compassion, respect, and dialogue, and affirming the Islamic commitment to safeguarding women’s dignity and rights. His participation reflects the commitment of Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta to international cooperation on family and women’s issues and to developing religious discourse that helps prevent violence, strengthen families, and promote social cohesion.
