Female circumcision contradicts Islamic law

Female circumcision contradicts Islamic law


Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaaconfirmed that female circumcision is a culturalpractice and has no link whatsoever with Islam and its teachings.
 
This statement came in response to some fatwas issued by non-specialists who claim that it is a religious injunction. Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa said that the advocates of this practice rely for their opinion on is extremely weak, adding that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not have his daughters circumcised.

The statement added that the prohibition of female circumcision is in accord with the objectives of Islamic law and interests of the people.
