In a symposium titled “Jerusalem: A Memorable Heritage”, organized by Al-Azhar and in cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry of Culture, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam delivered a word that carried significant messages to the international community.

Dr. Allam confirmed in his speech that Al-Aqsa is the oldest Mosque inhabited for worshipping God after the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. “Regaining Jerusalem necessitates taking an action and not by empty statements,” he stated.

The Grand Mufti concluded that the Azhar’s tireless efforts to defend and protect Jerusalem prove to the world that Egypt’s religious institution constantly supports Jerusalem’s memorable heritage and its cause.
