The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam, received a Libyan delegation from the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates to investigate the means of enhancing mutual religious cooperation.

During the meeting, Dr. Allam stressed the depth of the Egyptian-Libyan relations and the importance of maintaining permanent cooperation between the two countries at all levels, especially in the domain of combating extremism and terrorism. "It is important to raise people's awareness on the threat of extremist ideologies and promote sound religious knowledge in Libya," Dr. Allam said to the delegation.

From their part, the Libyan delegation hailed Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta efforts in combating extremist ideologies and promoting sound religious knowledge.
