Egypt’s Mufti directs to implement recommendations of Salam Center’s Int’l conference
In a news statement issued on Sunday, Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, decided immediately after the sweeping success of Salam Center’s first international conference to form a number of committees to follow up on the work and set specific timetables for implementing the recommendations. The most important of which is working on establishing an umbrella gathering research centers and think-tanks specialized in combating extremism and terrorism, which coordinates the cooperation among religious institutions, decision-makers, regional and international research centers.
From his part, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, President of Salam Center for Extremism Studies, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, stated that the Grand Mufti decided on making Salam Center’s conference an annual international event to gather researchers ministers, Muftis, scholars, specialists in combating extremism and terrorism, intellects, journalists and media figures.
The first international conference of Salam Center for Extremism Studies titled, “Religious Extremism: The Intellectual Premises and Counter-Strategies”, was held under the umbrella of the General Secretariat for fatwa Authorities Worldwide in Cairo from 7-9 June 2022- 8-10 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1443 A.H.
