Egypt's Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Shawki Allam concluded the activities of his official visit to the Republic of Singapore, which took place on the sidelines of his participation in the international conference on "Fatwa in Contemporary Societies" held from February 2-3. 

Dr. Allam delivered a speech during the conference, emphasizing the importance of Fatwa's role and its ability to provide contextual and relevant interpretations of Islamic law in a world marked by technological progress and social transformations. He highlighted ongoing ethical and moral questions and emerging issues, such as the ethical use of artificial intelligence, modern financial complexities, and challenges in medical advancements.

Dr. Allam chaired the second meeting of the Forum for Research and Studies on Minorities affiliated with the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide. The event was attended by scholars and members of the forum from various countries worldwide, with the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Mustafa, the Egyptian Ambassador to Singapore.
