Inheritance where the only heirs are two wives

Question

A man passed away, leaving behind two wives. He did not leave any other heirs, nor any descendants entitled to an obligatory bequest. What is the share of each wife?

Answer

The two wives collectively receive one-quarter, split equally between them, as an obligatory share. The remainder of the estate is to be returned to them through redistribution (radd), since there are no inheriting descendants, no other heirs entitled to obligatory shares, no universal heirs (‘asaba), and no extended family members.

And Allah the Almighty knows best.
