I would like to know if taking loans from the bank is permissible to buy a house or a car or to use for investment? I am asking for my brother who lives in Sweden and for me as I live in Egypt.

It is permissible to buy either the house or the car in installments through the bank. As for taking a personal loan, it is impermissible except upon necessity. It is only permissible for a person living in non-Muslim country to take personal loan, because according to the opinion of the Hanafi scholars, it is permissible to deal in corrupt contracts in non-Muslims countries.
