My husband is always busy and he does not allow me to go out on my own. What is the Islamic stance on this?
Question
Assalam Aleikum. I need your advice. One friend of mine is asking how she can convince here husband with Islamic way that she have the right to go out of her home some days in the week to have a walk in park near her home with her little daughter. She is Alhamdullah good veiled Muslim. Her husband busy all the time 7 days a week.
So he doesn't have chance to go with them and says that she is not allowed to go out because of even wife's of Profit Mohammed PBUH , was not going out of their homes.
Answer
This is erroneous. Lady 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) went out for Jihad (fighting in the cause of Allah). Lady Assma, the daughter of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them) used to go out to bring food for her father and the Prophet (pbuh) in the cave of Thawr at the time of Hijra. Lady Um Hiram also went out for the cause of Allah. Women, during the lifetime of the Prophet (pbuh) and female companions after his death used to go out to the mosque to attend the Friday prayer. Rather, the Prophet (pbuh) commanded women and children to attend the prayer of the two 'Eids even during menses and the like of such many examples.
May Allah amend their marital affairs.
