Offering prayer in a distant mosque when there is one close by

Question

What is the ruling on offering prayer in a distant mosque when there is one close by?

Answer

Praying in a nearby mosque takes precedence unless there is a circle of knowledge or a larger congregation in the distant mosque, and provided the congregational prayer in the nearby mosque is not undermined.

And God Almighty knows best.
