Egypt's Mufti Meets Uzbek Counterpart on the Sidelines of the International Forum on Islamic Civilization

On the sidelines of his participation in the International Forum “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Tolerance, Peace, and Enlightenment” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, His Eminence Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, met with Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiq Nazar, Grand Mufti of Uzbekistan, and Sodiq Toshboyev, Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The meeting focused on strengthening scholarly and fatwa cooperation, exchanging expertise in the training of muftis and religious leaders, countering extremist ideologies, and promoting the values of peace, moderation, and coexistence. The Uzbek officials commended the pioneering role and distinguished scholarly standing of Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta, reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation and benefiting from its expertise, particularly in combating extremism, fostering public awareness, and advancing a culture of moderation and peaceful coexistence.
