On the sidelines of his official visit to Uzbekistan, Egypt's Grand Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, met with a delegation from the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to discuss closer cooperation in combating extremism and Islamophobia.

The two sides agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation, exchange expertise, and develop joint initiatives. From their part,  the RATS delegation invited the Grand Mufti to participate in its upcoming international conference.
