Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta and the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide are preparing to convene the 11th International Conference on September 2–3, 2026, under the theme “Family Challenges amid Major Global Transformations”. Held under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the conference will bring together leading scholars, muftis, researchers, and experts from around the world. The conference’s Scholarly Committee has received nearly 300 research papers, highlighting the growing academic and scholarly interest in family issues and the evolving challenges confronting families amid rapid global transformations.

The submitted papers reflect a broad and multidisciplinary research agenda, addressing family issues from the perspectives of Islamic jurisprudence, intellectual thought, sociology, economics, psychology, technology, and future studies. They examine ways to protect the family’s identity and strengthen its cohesion, while exploring the social, economic, psychological, and digital transformations shaping family relationships. The research also addresses emerging family-related issues and considers how fatwa institutions can enhance their methodologies and tools to respond effectively to current developments and anticipate future challenges.
