The Islamophobia Monitoring Observatory at Egypt's Dar al-Ifta' vehemently condemned the ransacking of a Muslim prayer hall and the burning of copies of the Qur`an in Corsica. It released a press statement saying that such actions are criminal and racist and serve only the interest of extremist groups.

The observatory warned against the spread Islamophobia in Europe especially after the recent attacks carried out against some European countries.

The observatory called upon the French government to ban anti-Islam demonstrations because they incite violence and hatred and to enact laws criminalizing attacks against religious sanctities and against inciting anti-Muslim sentiment.
