The Grand Mufti: Nile water is a matter of national security necessitates unity and putting aside conflicts for achieving the high interest of Egypt
His eminence Dr. Shawqy Allam the grand Mufti of Egypt, called on different political powers to unite and avoid conflicts for achieving the high interest of Egypt. He pointed out that such calamities face our country necessitate unity for confrontation through having a joint goal and endeavor. We must put aside our disagreements for the sake of public interest.
His eminence confirmed to press, today morning, that the issue of Nile water is matter of national security which requires everyone to forget disagreement and unite for finding efficient solutions for this issue, overcoming it and reducing its impact on the future.
He added, political powers held great responsibility during the coming stage in dealing with national issues which we face from the outside. The most dangerous among these threats is the Egyptian water security. He confirmed that confronting these threats will not be achieved except after avoiding political disagreement and coming together to find quick and workable solutions for these crises.
He stressed that political powers have the right to express their point of views towards approaches presented by the government. He added, on the present time, it is necessary to forget disagreements in order to achieve the higher interest of the country and religion.
The Mufti called on all Egyptians to adopt a culture of rationalizing water and preserving it. In confirmation to the Prophet’s [pbuh] prohibition on wasting water while performing ablution even it was in a flowing river.
