The Grand Mufti of Egypt, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Shawki Allam, expressed his sincere thanks to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his kind patronage of Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta 4th international conference that will be held in Cairo from October 16-18, 2018.

“I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his permanent patronage of all the international conferences held by Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta through the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide that came in response to his call and initiative to renew religious discourse,” Dr. Allam said in a news statement.

The Grand Mufti added that the President’s initiative to renew religious discourse reflects his interest in addressing the nation's issues and his belief in the continued efforts exerted by the state’s institutions to combat terrorism and extremist ideologies.

Dr. Allam concluded that this year’s conference titled “Fatwa Renewal: Theory and Application” comes in line with the demand to eradicate the chaos of fatwa issuance since fatwa is the spearhead of renewing religious discourse.
