Egypt's Mufti receives Saudi Minister of Endowments, discusses aspects of fostering religious cooperation

Egypt's Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, received on Sunday Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in KSA, and his accompanying delegation, to investigate aspects of fostering mutual religious cooperation.
During their meeting, Dr. Allam presented to the delegation the efforts of Dar al-Ifta, the leading religious institution serving Fatwa issuance inside and outside Egypt, to combat extremist ideologies and provide Imams with the necessary scholarly training to encounter the currents of Islamophobia.
Dr. Allam praised the strong Egyptian-Saudi ties and appreciated the distinguished services the Kingdom provides for pilgrims during hajj and umrah.
From his part, the Saudi Minister expressed his interest in enhancing means of religious and scholarly cooperation between Dar al-Ifta and KSA stating that Azhari institution stands as a protective shield for the entire Muslim world.
