The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam, received the Canadian ambassador to Egypt, Jess Dutton, in his office at Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta to investigate the means of enhancing religious cooperation between Dar al-Ifta and Canada.

On behalf of the Canadian people and Foreign Ministry, Mr. Dutton expressed his sincere condolences to the Grand Mufti over New Zealand’s heinous terrorist crime and praised Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta scholarly and media efforts to combat extremist ideologies.

From his part, Dr. Allam informed His Excellency Mr. Dutton that Dar al-Ifta is completely ready to cooperate with the Canadian government to provide them with all the legal knowledge they need to enhance their efforts in dismantling extremist ideologies.
