Assistant Director-General of WHO delivers a speech at Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta’s 7th Intl. Conference.

As part of her remarks at the opening session of Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta’s 7th International Conference, Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Hanan Balkhy, touched on the 17 goals of sustainable development and noted that there cannot be health without peace and there cannot be peace without health.

Dr. Balkhy asserted that the Islamic faith embraces the means for reaching the SDGs in the teaching of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad.

“There is an opportunity for leaders of the Islamic faith to play a heightened and critical role in the advancements of the SDGs," she concluded.
