What is the proper way to dispose of a human skeleton? I am a medical student. I have a human skeleton, which is required for academic study at this faculty. I obtained it from a relative of mine who also used it for study before me. I have now completed my anatomy course and no longer need it for my studies. I want to dispose of it in a way that is consistent with Islamic law, so as not to be held accountable on the Day of Judgment. Please note that the faculty routinely sells skeletons to students.

It is obligatory to bury the skeletal remains in question in accordance with Islamic burial rites, out of respect to the human being whom Allah Almighty has honored in life and in death. Allah Almighty says, “Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him” (Quran, 80:21).
