Conducting a marriage contract on a Friday
Question
What is the ruling on conducting a marriage contract on a Friday?
Answer
There is no restriction in Islamic law regarding the day on which a marriage contract may be concluded, whether Friday or any other day. It is recommended to choose Friday for the marriage contract, as it is the most blessed day of the week and a day of celebration for Muslims. However, Islamic law does not prescribe a particular day or time for it. Accordingly, one may choose whichever day is most suitable. The scholars’ recommendation of Friday is based on the practice of the Salaf.[1]
And Allah Almighty knows best.
