The meaning of Allah’s words, “And as for the blessing of your Lord, proclaim it”
Question
What is meant by Allah’s words, “And as for the blessing of your Lord, proclaim it”?
Answer
Islamic law encourages Muslims to show the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon him and the effect those blessings upon them. This is because doing so is an expression of gratitude to Allah Almighty for the blessings. Allah Most High says, “And as for the blessing of your Lord, proclaim it” (Quran, 93:11).
ʿImran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said, “Whoever Allah blesses with a blessing, Allah loves to see the effect of His blessing on that person”
(recorded by Imam Ahmad in Al-Musnad, at-Tirmidhi in his Sunan, and al-Bayhaqi in Al-Sunan al-Kubra and Shuʿab al-Iman;the wording is that of Imam Ahmad).[1]
And Allah Almighty knows best.
