What is the ruling on marrying before reaching the legal age of marriage? I would like to marry a girl who has not yet reached the legal age of marriage, but her parents do not consent to this marriage. Would it be permissible for me to marry her if she appoints an agent to act on her behalf in the marriage, or should I wait until she reaches the legal age of marriage and then marry her in accordance with the teachings of Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)?

It is prohibited to marry this girl without her parent’s consent, and neither you nor she may proceed with the marriage. If her parents give you their consent, you must wait until she reaches the legal age of marriage before marrying her.
