What should a woman departing for hajj do if she gets her period before crossing miqat. Should she enter ihranm for Umrah or not

Question

What should a woman departing for hajj do if she gets her period before crossing miqat. Should she enter ihranm for Umrah or not?
What If she enters ihram for umrah but does not get pure from her menses till hajj starts, should she get out of her umrah ihram and make intention for hajj ihram? What is the ruling for the Umrah tawaf that she missed?

Answer

Yes, it is permissible for the menstruating woman to assume iharm [for umra] since purity is not a condition for the validity of iharm. If a menstruating woman assumes ihram for umrah intending to perform hajj tamattu' (umrah first) and her menses continues until the time of hajj, her hajj spontaneously transforms from tamattu' to qiran (hajj and umra simultaneously) without having to release herself from iharm.

In this case, she must, after standing on the plain of 'Arafat, perform only one circumambulation [tawaf] and Sa'i (walking between Safa and Marwa) for 'umrah and hajj together, apart from the rest obligatory rites of hajj qiran.
