Should one feel pleased or have a good dream after offering the istikhara prayer in order to do what one has offered it for?

The result of the istikhara [prayer for guidance and seeking a choice] does not necessarily comprise seeing something (in a dream) or feeling pleased. The most important result of istikhara is whether or not a person is enabled to do a given matter.
