H.E Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Egypt's Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, arrived in Bangkok on Saturday for an official visit underscoring the deep cultural and religious ties between Egypt and Thailand.

Dr. Ayyad was welcomed by senior Thai and Egyptian diplomats, who highlighted the mutual appreciation for Egypt’s leading religious institutions, particularly Al-Azhar and Dar al-Ifta, in promoting moderation and stability.

The Grand Mufti met with the Azhar mission and alumni in Thailand, stressing their pivotal role in advancing scholarship and spreading the values of tolerance. His program includes high-level meetings with Thai leaders, along with a series of lectures and discussions on Dar al-Ifta’s experience in fostering coexistence and countering extremism.
