As part of Egypt's Dar al-Ifta strategy to enhance international religious cooperation, Egypt's Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, headed to India on Sunday in response to an official invitation extended by Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations [ICCR].

In a news statement issued on Sunday prior to traveling, Senior Advisor to Egypt's Mufti, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, emphasized the strong historical and cultural relations between the two countries and highlighted the significance of the Mufti's visit to build bridges of peace and religious cooperation.
