Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta offers its experience to the European Parliament on fatwa related matters
The Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, left for Brussels in response to the invitation extended by the European Union and the European Commission. Dr. Negm will expound a number of issues including Dar al-Ifta’s position on countering extremist ideologies as well as a number of other topics that are necessary for understanding Islamophobia and in particular the prevailing hostile discourse regarding Muslims in Europe.
Dr. Negm will conduct several of meetings with high-ranking officials in the European Parliament and the European Commission to promote cooperation concerning correcting the distorted image of Islam and countering extremism and Islamophobia.
Dr. Negm said that Dar al-Ifta offers its experience to the European Parliament on fatwa related matters with the aim of marginalizing extremist discourse prevailing in decision-making bodies across the globe. He added that Dar al-Ifta` seeks to impress upon the international community the necessity of implement serious policies to support Egypt in its war against terrorism.
