Dr. Shawqi Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, received in his office Dr. Sarah Sewell, Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights. During the meeting, Dr. Shawqi said that the whole world faces the same malignant threat of terrorism and consequently we must all bear the responsibility to confront it. On another note, he said, “We respect freedom of expression within the sovereignty of law provided it does not conflict with the higher interests of the country.” Dr. Allam further stressed that Egypt is progressively changing towards better living conditions.
