In a news statement issued on Thursday, the Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti, Dr. Ibrahim Negm stated that the International Conference held by Egypt's Dar al-Iftaa this week came to a close with great success, affirming Egypt's leading role and the ability of its religious institutions to establish entities addressing the issues faced by Muslim minority groups worldwide.

Dr. Negm confirmed that the conference conveyed a very important message signifying that Egypt's Dar al-Iftaa is determined to build real brides of cooperation with Muslim minority communities and provide scholars in these communities with the sound references derived from true authentic teachings of Islam.

"We are currently working on implementing the conference goals and recommendations,” he said. “The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shwki Allam,” he added, “decided immediately after the conference to form a number of committees to follow up on the work and set specific timetables."

Dr. Negm concluded that Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa will work on setting a strategy to establish a global center providing training on fatwa issuance, one that will form the basis for a global center concerned with issuing fatwas to Muslim minority communities with an aim to regain the moderate reference approach under Dar al-Iftaa’s supervision.
