The Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, left for Washington to discuss the means of implementing the recommendations of Dar al-Iftaa’s international conference that was held last week in Egypt, titled, “Qualifying and Educating Religious Leadership in the Issuance of Fatawa in Mosque Communities of Muslim Minority Countries.”
In a news statement issued on Monday, Dr. Negm clarified that his tour to the different US Islamic centers aims to identify the needs of these centers in order to provide scholars of Muslim communities with the necessary scholarly guidance and support and discover the challenges facing them.
Dr. Negm added that this visit includes investigating the possibility of establishing a forum for research and studies on Muslim minority communities with a view to correct the distorted image of Muslims in the west, mitigate hostilities against Islam, and cooperate with international institutions promoting welfare and peace to reach these human goals.
