Senior Advisor to Egypt’s Mufti, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, said that this year’s conference, successfully concluded its deliberations yesterday, represented a list of previous achievements and opened a new door for future work on implementing the message and objectives of the General Secretariat. In this respect, he added that since its establishment, the General Secretariat has made great strides on the path of promoting moderate religious thought and encountering radicalism.

Dr. Negm stated in a news statement on Thursday that the General Secretariat immediately formed a number of committees to follow up on the work and set specific timetables. These include an action plan for fostering mutual coordination and cooperation with fatwa specialists and ifta authorities worldwide with a view to invest juristic differences over the ages in promoting contemporary social cohesion and contributing to contemporary human civilization.

Dr. Negm concluded that the conference conveyed a very important message signifying that the General Secretariat is determined to build real brides of cooperation with Muslims worldwide and provide scholars with the sound references derived from true authentic teachings of Islam.
