In a news statement issued on Saturday, the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, announced that Egypt's Dar al-Ifta fourth international conference titled "Fatwa Renewal: Theory and Application", will be held from October 16-18, 2018, discusses a number of crucial issues to renew fatwas to accommodate contemporary developments, challenges and changing locational and individual contexts.

"The conference's themes come in line with the juristic principle “Fatwa is the product of its time”," Dr. Negm added. He clarified that the conference covers 5 timely issues: Methodological provenance of fatwa renewal, Fatwa regulations concerning human rights issues, Fatwa regulations for medical developments, Fatwa regulations for medical developments and Fatwa regulations concerning issues of public concern and the state.
