Attacking and killing foreign tourists visiting Muslim counties is a grave sin

Dar al-Ifta` asserted that killing and attacking foreign tourists visiting Muslim countries is a grave sin and corruption that contradicts the guarantee of safety on their lives and possessions granted to them upon their entry to Muslim countries through lawful means. The same applies to suicide attacks and bombings against non-Muslims in their own countries.

Citing evidence from the Qur`an and sunna, Dar al-Ifta` stressed in its latest fatwa that Islamic law urges us to fulfill our contracts and agreements. It added that such terrorist acts are considered major sins because they result in blood-shed and the killing of innocent souls from among Muslims and non-Muslims, a matter which Allah prohibited without right.

Such acts contradict the objectives of Islamic law which Islam and all religions seek to preserve mainly religion, life, intellect, dignity and property and forfeit the wisdom behind some of these objectives such as the preservation of life.
