Dar al-Iftaa trains Afghani clergymen on the art of crafting legal verdicts to confront extremist fatwas

Dr. Shawky Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, received a presidential Afghani delegation led by Dr. Shams al-Rahman Frutan, the Afghan Presidential Advisor, to discuss means of promoting religious cooperation between Dar al-Iftaa and the Republic of Afghanistan.
The Grand Mufti expressed Dar al-Iftaa’s willingness to offer juristic support to the republic of Afghanistan. A tentative agreement was reached between the two sides to train Afghani clergymen at Dar al-Iftaa in the art of crafting legal verdicts and confronting extremist fatwas.
Dr. Shams al-Rahman stressed the significance of Dar al-Ifta’s role in establishing moderation and spreading the tolerant message of Islam. He said that the noble Azhar is the cynosure of knowledge for Muslims all over the world because of its moderation which deals in a balanced manner with the requirements of modern life.
