In his keynote speech delivered at the opening session of Egypt's Dar al-Ifta fourth international conference titled "Fatwa Renewal: Theory and Application, Dr. Shawki Allam, stated that this year's conference is extremely specific and highly expressive of our prevalent needs because renewal is an essential feature of this religion.

"Ijtihad and renewal are indivisible and the first person to urge us to pursue renewal was the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him," Dr. Allam stated.

Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta has launched on Tuesday its fourth international conference on Fatwa Renewal through the General Secretariat of Fatwa Authorities worldwide as part of its efforts to renew religious discourse.
