The Observatory of Islamophobia praises Muslim woman for defeating anti-Semitic abuse on London underground

The Observatory of Islamophobia at Egypt's Dar al-Ifta praised the act of a Muslim woman who bravely defended a Jewish family from anti-Semitic abuse on Northern London underground.
The Observatory stated in a news statement that a footage went viral on social media showing a Muslim woman, Asma Shuweikh, bravely confronted a man who aggressively read Bible passages at two Jewish children and their father on Friday. The man went on an anti-Semitic rant, accusing Jewish people of being “imposters” who started the slave trade.
The Observatory confirmed that the woman's act is a positive step that should motivate Muslims to engage in their non-Muslim communities in a way that fosters coexistence and extinguishes the blazing fire of Islamophobia rekindled by far-right groups.
"As a Muslim woman and mother I know what it's like to be attacked and dehumanised for my faith and I couldn't just watch and see this happen to another family with young children," the Muslim woman commented.
The Observatory called on Muslims in Western countries to represent the true tolerant face of Islam and defeat hate rhetoric through playing positive and effective roles in their societies and to be a model of loyalty defending the rights away from the calls that advocate isolation and anti-Muslim slogans.
