Senior Advisor to Egypt's Mufti, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, received a high-level delegation from the European Parliament led by Parliament Member, Mr. Thomas Cerovski, to discuss means of mutual cooperation in the field of countering extremism.
During the meeting, Dr. Negm demonstrated the continuous efforts of Egypt's Dar al-Ifta since 2014 in encountering terrorism and extremism, the latest of which is establishing "Salam Center for Extremism Studies".
"Future work plans of Salam Center include fostering cooperation with research centers and think tanks in Arab and western countries", Dr. Negm added.
From his part, Mr. Cerovski praised the remarkable efforts of Egypt's Dar al-Ifta in countering extremism and expressed his aspiration to benefit from the institution's experience in this regard.
