Salam Center for Extremism Studies Welcomes the Appointment of UN Special Envoy to Combat #Islamophobia
Salam Center for Extremism Studies and Combating Islamophobia, affiliated with the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, welcomed the United Nations resolution regarding measures to combat "Islamophobia" and the appointment of a special envoy to address the phenomenon. This resolution coincides with commemorating the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, observed annually on March 15th.
Dr. Ibrahim Negm, Senior Advisor to Egypt's Mufti, President of Salam Center for Extremism Studies, emphasized that the UN decision is a step in the right direction to urge the international community to address this phenomenon comprehensively with the aim of eliminating it and building a world based on the values of brotherhood and peace.
Dr. Negm stressed the importance of presenting a comprehensive strategy to confront "Islamophobia," addressing the imminent threat it poses to Muslim communities in the West, and uprooting its causes to create a just, fair, and stable society for all.
In conclusion, the President of Salam Center praised the efforts of the UN Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres, to counter the waves of hostility against Islam and Muslims, emphasizing the need to unify the efforts of international, regional, and national organizations to eradicate this highly dangerous phenomenon that undermines international peace and security.
