Can I shower and comb my hair while in ihram for Hajj?

It is permissible for a pilgrim while in ihram for hajj or 'umrah to shower with water and unscented soap. However, during the state of ihram, it is forbidden for someone who knows that their hair falls out when combing it to do so. If one is unsure, it is disliked (makrooh) as a precaution. If strands of hair are found in the comb, whether cut by it or already fallen, no expiation (fidyah) is required due to the possibility that they were already detached, and expiation is not obligatory in cases of doubt.
