What should a person who doubts having offered one or two prostrations in the third rak’a [cycle of prayer] do?

A person who has doubts about his prayer should proceed on the assumption that he did not do it and offer another sajda [prostration]. He should then complete the prayer and make sujud as-sahw [prostration of forgetfulness].
