Should a person who does not make tasbih when making ruku’ and sujud perform sujud as-sahw?

Question

Should a person who does not make tasbih when making ruku’ and sujud perform sujud as-sahw?

Answer

One does not have to perform sujud as-sahw [prostration of forgetfulness], whether or not one has made tasbih [glorification of God] during ruku` [bowing] and sujud [prostration], either intentionally or absentmindedly provided one preserves presence of heart and mind. This is because this is a pillar in both.
And God the Almighty knows best.
