Parents’ access to their children’s income

Question

Do my parents have a right to my income?

Answer

The assumption that parents have the right to take their son's income is incorrect. Children are indeed obligated to look after their parents if they have insufficient or no income of their own. However, parents do not have the right to take their children’s money or property without their consent. In this respect, what applies to a son also applies to a daughter. Both males and females have the same rights of ownership and equal personal and financial independence.
Both sons and daughters must be dutiful to their parents and look after them if they need to be looked after.
And God Almighty knows best.
