At the opening session of the 10th International Fatwa Conference, the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide presented the 2025 Imam Al-Qarafi Award for Excellence in Fatwa to the Grand Mufti of Chad, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nour Muhammad Al-Hilu, in recognition of his efforts to uphold moderate religious authority and combat extremism. He described the award as both a tribute to his country and a motivation to continue serving the field of fatwa, commended Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta for its role in bridging the knowledge gap in artificial intelligence, and highlighted the contribution of Chad’s Dar Al-Ifta in safeguarding society against destructive ideologies.
