Fatwa and Contemporary Human Issues: Egypt's Dar al-Ifta to Host 2nd Global Symposium in December

Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is preparing for the Second International Symposium of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities on 15–16 December 2025 in Cairo. The event, titled “Fatwa and Contemporary Human Issues,” will gather leading scholars from around the world to address major global challenges and the role of fatwa in serving humanity.

The symposium will launch key initiatives—including a Fatwa and Human Dignity Charter, Fatwa Standards for Sustainable Development, and a Fatwa for Humanity Platform—aimed at transforming fatwa work into a research-based, socially impactful system. It will also strengthen cooperation among global fatwa institutions to counter extremist fatwas and promote the moderate Azhar methodology.
